Nike Zoom Kobe IV Video from Nice Kicks on Vimeo.
Hope everyone is enjoying/enjoyed their respective holidays. Lots of heat in this video, and Mike Epps is making a lot of good moves lately. Also good to see DJ AM healthy. AM stands for Air Max -sidebar.

Teriyaki Boyz

New track from the Teriyaki Boyz, videos pretty funny but the beats actually really nice. Keep in mind English is none of their first languages, Wylcef is the only person I've ever seen flow in two different languages. Wayne's few words of French don't really count.

Amazing Concept

So this dude BP on NT did this Penny mashup himself, absolutely sick concept. Unfortunately Nike will not be dropping these, but the actually Penny Hybrids dropping are pictured below on the left and were one of the first posts I made.

This would be an awesome stocking stuffer

My favorite song right now, live

Sidebar, but after watching the Breakfast Club on tv for the first time in a while and just doing a google image search of the movie I don't know how that hat got dubbed that nickname cuz I never saw anybody wearing it in the movie. I think they have it confused with another critically acclaimed coming of age film.

Hey bud,

Is a "throwback" jersey the same as a "swingman" jersey. . . and, hypothetically, if someone asked you for a Knicks jersey would you buy them "home" or "away" colors?

FYI - did you know that an Auto Tune (which appears to be the trade name for Auto Tone) costs about as much a car (okay, a junk car) and, some would say, is the death of rap and hip hop?

I don't know if this link will work

http://uploaded.to/?id=hurcxr
This is supposed to be a link to download "I've Been Pimpin" by Common prod. by J Dilla. I know this song has been out a while but I really like it. I need more music like this with a message or at least some social commentary. Dilla is slowly becoming one of my favorite producers to thanks to this and the 2nd Pharcyde album Graham sent me.

I really enjoyed this interview

And apparently Jim Jones too.

Not sure if I like how this came out

The video's pretty dope, but they messed with the song a lot. They added a video game type beat underneath the original beat and they vocodered/tweaked Wayne's verse. I think it's normal to like the original version of something more because you're used to it, but this song had a raw, kinda spooky sound at first and they over pop'd it to me.

Cool Stuff

Disclaimer: I saw Kanye wearing the Teal crewneck in a pic before these surfaced on Hypebeast, so there's a chance they aren't actually cool or I don't really like them, but I think some of the stuff is definitely nice.

So that's how he did it

No idea how this escaped me the previous times I was on MJ's wiki, but I guess its time I stop trying the lean.

A Big Thank You

Big thanks goes out to everyone from back home overseas in Iraq. While I don't necessarily understand or support the war I do appreciate the brave people literally fighting for us. This is no Go America, F*ck Iraq post, this is just me publicly showing love for people making a huge sacrifice in effort to help us. I had a chance to talk to somebody in the service and what he said really moved me. His biggest advice was to spread love back home. I couldn't agree more.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 John 4:11

Regardless of religious affiliation or lack there of, I think we can all agree that we're very blessed and we could all be a little better to people. I read a quote the other day saying "Love unexpressed isn't love at all." Definitely gonna try to express love and appreciation better myself.

Ian how do you know so much about shoes? How do you know the release dates and all that? Well the answer is lots of years of loving basketball and sneakers, and a lot of blog and forum digging. For those with less time, the good people at Kix and The City put together a nice wrap up of the upcoming releases. Worth a watch

Like I Wouldn't Post This

Check Yourself

Never really spoke on this, but for a period of time last school year and this summer I was pretty worried I had testicular cancer. Fortuantely, I was in fact buggin, I got tested and its all good. Regardless, this gave me a compassionate heart for those that do have cancer and really educated me on the subject. Testicular cancer is becoming more common and is a legitimate problem for young men my age. With a 95% survival rate and amazing comeback stories (see Lance Armstrong, Nene Hillario, Chris Lofton...) it is definately treatable if detected. Anyways God Bless those that do have it and check your self monthly and see a doctor if you're concerned. Believe me the awkwardness of getting checked pales in comparison to the fear and uncertainty of not.

Shocking (sorry)

Expanding their palette of colors into more readily available releases, Casio G-Shock has created a new collection for the 2008 fall/winter season which features the theme “Crazy Colors”. Each design features highly contrasting colorways to create a series of bold timepieces. The styles revolve around two of G-Shock’s most popular models, the DW-6900 (round) and the DW-5600 (square).

They'll Never Be Another

Great interview, might be better than the one he did with Steven A on the first episode of Quite Frankly. Watching this I couldn't help but feel lucky to have grown up watching Allen Iverson. The league will never allow a phenom with such a real persona to flourish the way AI did. I'm not saying that the L is trying to keep the man down, or that some of the stuff AI got into as a youth should be glamorized, or even that the dress code really changed things. When I hear how PC and automated every response from todays stars is it rubs me the wrong way a bit. I think its great that certain players are living up to their role model expectations and speaking like adults, but I do think the leagues extreme makeover killed the personality of the players and the fan connection with them. I think this move has already hurt them in some aspects of marketability. Anyways I'm thankful for Allen Iverson.

Also Chris Rock needs his own talk show again.

Unreleased Version of Scenario, not really a big deal

WOW! I guess the internet's pretty cool, and according to NahRight there may be more. Coolest thing I've heard since the OG version of It Ain't Hard to Tell. Sidebar but I hope Michael Jackson releases an album/boxset with the 60 or so songs that didn't make Dangerous...

Courtesy of Nahright. Great video, comes off real humble and real cool at the time. Hearing him talk about working with Premo and AZ really makes me wonder why they don't still collaborate. Still waiting on that Nas/DJ Premier street album.

Will The Renaissance ever come out? Does anyone read my blog? What are horseshoes? Are there horse socks? Is anyone listening?

Big Nike Kobe MVPs

Wow. Uber limited, 100 pairs or something. Hope Nike does more with the Big Nike's, definitely have an AJ1, Dunk, Blazer type feel to them but feel cooler. Pics are from Sole Collector via Nice Kicks. If you didn't know I just take everything I post from other blogs, hence the title Stuff I Like.

Mr. Bentley ft Ye, 3000, and Sa Ra

Not the biggest Bentley fan but this video/song is dope. Remember him being on the Can't Tell Me Nothing mixtape, and judging by the lines in Kanye's hair I'm guessin they filmed this video last fall. Cool concept, lots of creative/abstract people on one set.

Penny 3 and Penny 2 Retro Pics

Via NT via ISS, original colorway Penny 3's on left and Heat colorway Penny 2's on right. Quality and shape look good on both, look for these to drop in late 08 and 09 respectively.

Pastelle Hoody

First look at Pastelle besides those sunglasses from the "Wouldn't Get Far" video. Not sure if I'm feeling the dunce cap hood or a full zip hoody being the first clothing piece from the line. Look forward to seeing the rest of the line actually come out (was supposed to drop in November last year) and if he'll still bring out Mascotte (less expensive line, polos with dropout bear logo, stuff like that).

Classic

Ricky Rubio

Amazed. He's gotta be the shortest foreign prospect ever to get so much praise and potential number 1 pick! The future crop of NBA point guards with guys like him and Brandon Jennings coming in and Chris Paul and Deron Williams setting the bar is real exciting. I think its really cool how fans are starting to embrace the foreign players. In Japan and China all the basketball magazines cover the NBA in crazy depth but they also keep up on the players and standings in all the foreign leagues. The game is going global, and it really is a good think. Can't wait for the Beijing Games.
PS. On the same mock draft website (nbadraft.net) there's a 6'7 Russian pg whose NBA comparison is Penny Hardaway!!! No video on him yet, I'll be on the look
PPS. $1o Paypal to anybody that sends me a link where I can buy either of their jerseys

Nike Air 1/2 Cent

In general I think hybrid sneakers are kind of lazy and uninspired, but for Nike to make basically a new Air Penny shows a lot of respect for Penny's legacy and to sneakerheads. With that said these will definitely be on my feet. Anybody reading this blog probably knows that Penny is my favorite player of all time and that his shoe line is number one to me too. Hope they drop some retro Penny gear and release "Double Action" on DVD. Now there's a package I would get.

Charles Hamilton> your favorite up and coming rapper

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaJWrHyyEFA

I know I've been on Wale, Jay Electronica, and the Cool Kids for a minute now, put this guy really has it. I've seen his stuff posted a lot on NahRight along with the likes of Joel Ortiz, Kardinall Official, Crooked I, and other guys I haven't really messed with yet, but I caught this video on NT last night and have been sold since. Hes crazy like Eminem (minus the doing vulgar things to his mother part) and is charismatic like Kanye with witty punchlines. Anyways he goes on and on and it stays entertaining. Check him out.
